Katherine Power Station is soon to receive a new Taurus power generation turbine with an intercooler. Westwater was commissioned to provide a Reverse Osmosis plant to supply 30kl/d to the turbine intercooler.
Westwater designed, supplied, installed and commissioned the RO plant capable of 50kl/d and developed the control philosophy with associated equipment which was also installed. A Rhino storage tank and Hypochlorite dosing system was installed along with a Prominent analyser to provide a completely automated disinfection system for the storage water.
A representative sample is taken every 24 hours to determine the chlorine residual in the tank. The analyser and PLC will then work to dose the tank to achieve a range of 0.2—0.5 ppm re-sidual chlorine.
