Several Communities and McMinns Bore Power Water - Northern Territory
WestWater was contracted by Power Water to design, supply and install Ultraviolet (UV) treatment modules at several remote locations throughout the Northern Territory, as well as the McMinns bore near to Darwin. The systems were required to improve water quality for the local community.
The remote locations presented some difficult logistical problems, as the existing pipework had to be located and then modified to include new stainless steel piping complete with the UV Reactor Chamber. Dedicated new buildings were then installed, complete with electrical controls. This meant we had to transport all the necessary equipment over several hundred kilometres and difficult terrain.
To ease some of the installation tasks, we designed and pre-fabricated the stainless steel pipework and valving in our factory and then shipped to site.
We are the Australian distributors for the ATG UV Technology range of UV disinfection products and we utilised their ECOLINE “through flow†reactor chambers complete with RQW auto-cleaning and SPECTRA microprocessor based electrical control system. ATG manufacture a reliable and robust range of UV systems and have a worldwide reputation for UV technology expertise.
The systems have been operational for some time with excellent results and comply with the disinfection requirements specified.
